Preaching for Six Months Straight

Sunday just gone, we had some baptisms and confirmations at church with the Bishop of Richborough presiding. This was the first time I haven’t preached the Sunday sermon at church since I was licensed on July 4th. That’s 22 Sundays in a row. This Sunday, I’ll preach again. The following weekend, I’ll preach twice on Christmas Eve (different sermons, one for Advent IV and one for Christmas Eve), and then again on Christmas Morning. Then I’m going to take a break for a couple of weeks. I will then have preached 26 sermons in 6 months. I also do short sermons at our Thursday masses and I have done occasional sermons such as the one I did at Pusey House for All Saints’ Day and the recent address I gave at our Carol Concert.

I’m not looking for sympathy. I absolutely love it.
