Reflection on Irreverend Live

I wanted to write a note on the Irreverend live event we had here in Winchester this week. This was a live podcast recording with my co-hosts Tom and Daniel. It was a success with a good attendance and excellent atmosphere. Lots of laughs but also I felt a serious message coming through about the public witness of the Church and the need for spiritual and moral conviction in our attitude as Christians at this very challenging time.

On a personal level, I feel very grateful for the support of the people involved. In podcasting and in my role as a vicar, nothing gives me greater joy than meeting people and having that sense of a shared common purpose in faith. And an event like that concentrates that feeling for me in an incredible way.

On the evening, we had amazing people helping out and giving their time, energy and expertise. And I am grateful simply for the folks who showed up and contributed by their presence to the evening. I find this to be an almost s…
