I took the three older children to stay with my mother for a few days. She is house-sitting for some family friends of ours who now live in a house in Wivenhoe in Essex called Broadway House. They are a most interesting family with whom I stayed for a few months when I was at the tail end of my A-levels. Back then they lived in a similarly quirky house near Colchester. I had great affection for that house. It was three stories up and had a basement which was really like a self-enclosed flat. Florence is a French artist and a Christian. Sheldon is a Jewish American professor of Law. They have four children, one of whom, Joshua, sadly is not with us anymore.
Joshua was staying at the old house in Colchester whilst I was there. I’m not sure how long he had been having problems but he certainly had them at that point.
