On Saturday 7th May, we had our first ever official Irreverend event ‘Irreverend: Face to Face’. I’m writing this a few days later and I’m hoping it will help me to come to a better level of understanding in doing so. The first thing to say that is that it was an incredible success in every way. But the thing that ties it all together is an amazing sense of goodwill and positivity. I could honestly say that I’ve never experience anything quite like it in my life.
Nerves
I started speaking to Susie and Johanna about organising this event at the beginning of the year. It’s the kind of thing that would simply never have happened if left to me because I wouldn’t have had the focus and determination to organise it properly. But they did and they found a venue and checked it with me and made sure I paid for it and so on and so forth. And then the event was definitely happening.
