Reflections upon Graduation: Part Two
If you’ve not already, you’ll need to read Part One of this story in order to get the full picture here. I was talking about how I managed to squeeze into a doctoral programme in Oxford. I was delighted to be accepted in and it did feel like a very special moment when I got the email notifying me about it. You’ll remember as well that I had a sense that the Lord had opened this door for me in quite a dramatic and unexpected way. That sense was to sustain me in what followed because the first year was something I found very difficult and, in a sense, disappointing. I had dreamed of being accepted into one of the medieval colleges and had specified in my application Christ Church as my college of choice. I was put in St Antony’s.
