Books and Other Things
An update on books. As regular readers will know back in April I set myself a challenge to read the equivalent of a book a month for the rest of the year from the canon of great English literature. I’m still on course to complete this but I’ve done a little tweak to make things easier and added Pride and Prejudice to the list. The reason being that I couldn’t face Chaucer and I needed something to keep me going. I’ve never read Pride and Prejudice but I’ve seen the BBC adaptation so many times I feel like I have. I remember watching it when it was first on TV with my mum in the nineties. I assume that all my readers have seen it but if you haven’t then you must.
Another brilliant thing I’ve just finished watching the adaption of Brideshead Revisted from the early eighties with Jeremy Irons, Diana Quick, Anthony Andrews and Laurence Olivier.
